African Mahogany
Characteristics: Our African Mahogany is an exotic and imported hardwood that is figured "broken grained". It is characterized by vertical bonds of varying luster and vessel markings in which the ribbon effect is intermittent. The heartwood varies from light to deep reddish-brown. Like American Mahogany, this timber is very durable and stable.
Common Uses: African Mahogany wood is used for furniture - joinery - paneling - boat building - cabinet making - veneer - plywood and wherever American Mahogany is used.
Working Properties: Nailing and gluing properties are good. African Mahogany can be stained and polished to an excellent finish. Overall this species is an easy wood to work.
